Most video bars give you one lens and a compromise. The VB350 gives you two 4K lenses that serve different purposes simultaneously. The fixed wide lens at 113° FOV keeps the full room in frame at all times. The varifocal PTZ lens with 18X hybrid zoom tracks the active speaker and brings them into sharp focus, reaching rooms up to 7 metres deep. The two lenses switch between each other with stable, stutter-free transitions — AVer’s lens switching technology is specifically designed to avoid the jarring cut that cheaper dual-lens bars produce.
Smart ViewShift, introduced via firmware update, adds another layer of composure to the tracking. Rather than snapping to every movement detected by the audio tracking sensor, Smart ViewShift applies transition effects that shift the camera smoothly and gradually. SmartFrame automatically adjusts the framing to keep all participants in shot, and SmartSpeaker keeps focus on the active voice. Presentation Mode adds voice-triggered tracking across defined preset areas — the camera shifts between zones as the presenter moves without any manual control. Smart Gallery, configured via PTZApp 2, crops participants into equal individual feeds for remote attendees.
The audio hardware is genuinely capable. Fourteen beamforming microphone elements cover up to 10 metres, reaching up to 96 dB SPL at half a metre. Acoustic echo cancellation and noise suppression run in the background. The adjustable audio fence is the practical standout — define a wide, medium, or narrow pickup zone so the microphone captures voices inside the meeting area and ignores ambient noise from open-plan office activity, corridor traffic, or air conditioning outside the zone.
