The VC550 combines the CAM550 dual-lens 4K camera and the FONE540 speakerphone into a single system where audio and video are tuned to work together. For rooms that are large enough to need a PTZ camera, they’re almost always large enough to need a dedicated speakerphone — and buying them as a matched pair means you’re not debugging audio/video sync issues from two separate vendors.
The CAM550 runs two lenses simultaneously. The primary PTZ lens delivers 12X optical zoom and 24X total zoom with a focal length range of 3.9 mm to 47.3 mm, covering a DFOV of 85° wide down to tight presenter detail. The secondary AI lens at 95° DFOV provides a continuous panoramic room overview — when someone new walks in, the AI lens detects them and triggers the PTZ to automatically reframe to include them. Smart Gallery takes that further: AI face and body detection crops each participant into equal-sized headshot or half-body feeds, so remote attendees see everyone at the same scale regardless of where they’re sitting. Virtual USB streaming allows the camera to operate as a video source over Ethernet — useful for rooms where running a USB cable to the camera is impractical.
The FONE540 speakerphone is built for rooms where audio quality matters. Double-talk detection handles both sides of a conversation speaking simultaneously without clipping either — a common failure point in rooms with aggressive echo cancellation. Advanced noise suppression continuously filters keyboard typing, air conditioning, and ambient office sounds. The daisy-chain expansion capability is practically important: add up to two additional FONE540 speakerphones or up to four expansion pair microphones without any additional processing hardware, mixer, or amplifier. When a participant arrives after the meeting has started, the AI secondary lens detects them immediately and triggers the PTZ to reframe the group shot to include them. The process is fully automatic — no one needs to pause the meeting, touch a controller, or call attention to it. The camera adjusts silently and immediately.
Smart Gallery — Every Participant at the Same Scale
Smart Gallery uses AI face and body detection to crop each participant into an equal-sized individual feed — headshot or half-body mode. Remote attendees see everyone at the same scale rather than a wide shot where the person at the far end is a fraction the size of the person nearest the camera. Configured once in PTZApp 2, it runs automatically for every meeting thereafter.
